Good Vibrations - PioneerDJ Launches New Range of VM series Active Monitors

Pioneer DJ has announced three new premium near-field monitor speakers the VM-50, VM-70 and VM-80 are designed with “artists looking to integrate the club and studio atmosphere into their own spaces,” in mind.

This statment brings Pioneer DJ's new and extensive DSP control systems to the fore with 16 EQ settings for adjusting music based on the listener’s preferred style and compensate for any acoustic shortcomings in the enviroment in which the speakers are to be used. The speakers can be tuned to suit the characteristics of a room, making them perfect for recreating a club sound when you’re DJing or providing a flat frequency response when you’re producing music in a home or professional studio setting.

The three new speakers all come equipped with a Class D amplifier and 4 mm-thick aluminum baffle. Pioneer DJ claim that the aluminum baffle design not only offers a clean minimalist aesthetic, but also helps minimize vibrations giving lower audio distortion.

The VM-50 (5-inch) will be available in black and white, while the VM-70 (6.5-inch) and VM-80 (8-inch) will be available only in black. The VM-50 will have a maximum sound pressure of 107 dB, while the VM-70 and VM-80 will have maximums of 112 dB and 115 dB, respectively.

Leaping forward from the popular Pioneer DJ S-DJX speakers, the brand-new design of the VM series units includes high-quality components and innovative features to deliver pure audio. With flat voicing, Class D amplifiers, and Aramid fiber cones, they accurately reproduce sounds from their original sources, including deep low-end frequencies thanks to the Vortex Bass Accelerator.
