The Akai Professional MPC Sample Standalone Sequencer is a compact, portable solution designed for producers who want the iconic MPC workflow in a modern, self-contained format. Drawing on nearly four decades of sampling heritage, it delivers a fast, hands-on music creation experience without the need for a computer or DAW. With a built-in sequencer, speaker, microphone, and rechargeable battery, you can record, edit, and perform wherever inspiration strikes.

At its core are 16 RGB backlit MPC pads with velocity sensitivity and polyphonic aftertouch, offering the expressive feel the MPC range is known for. A 2.4-inch full-colour display provides clear, high-resolution waveform editing, while three real-time control knobs and the classic MPC parameter slider ensure tactile, immediate control during performance.

Creative sampling tools such as Instant Chop Mode, real-time time-stretching and repitching, and internal resampling with effects make shaping sounds quick and intuitive. With over 100 factory kits included, plus microSD expansion and USB-C sampling from smart devices, the MPC Sample adapts easily to both mobile and studio setups.

Continuing the legacy of MPC production, the onboard sequencer features real-time swing, note repeat, 960 PPQN resolution, Song Mode, and sequence recall for capturing spontaneous ideas. Projects can also be transferred to MPC software for further development when needed.

The pads are complemented by a streamlined interface designed for efficiency. A dedicated record gain control, three assignable effects knobs, and the legacy MPC fader provide direct, hands-on adjustment of sounds and performance parameters. The intuitive layout keeps essential functions within easy reach, making the workflow both fast and accessible.

Advanced sampling sits at the heart of the unit. You can record via the internal microphone, stereo inputs, or directly over USB-C from Mac, Windows, iOS, or Android devices. Features like threshold sampling, loop capture, Chop Mode, auto-snapping, warping, and real-time looping offer flexible editing options, while internal resampling and effect processing add creative depth.

Four internal effects engines provide a wide range of processing options, including pad effects, performance effects, FlexBeat, and a master compressor with vintage character. With 32 stereo voices, fast disk streaming, and support for formats such as WAV, AIFF, FLAC, and MP3, the MPC Sample handles detailed productions with ease.

Built for portability, the MPC Sample includes a rechargeable lithium-ion battery offering up to five hours of use, along with a built-in speaker and microphone for standalone operation. USB-C provides power, audio, MIDI connectivity, and file transfer, while additional connections include stereo 1/4-inch inputs and outputs, headphone output, MIDI in/out with thru, and CV sync out.
